We recycle

  Solution to the problem: After a period of learning about recycling and proper waste separation, we reflected on how we could help solve the waste management problem in our community. We concluded that the best solution would be to teach and raise awareness among other people about the importance of this practice. In collaboration with our school's project partners, we decided to create an awareness campaign. To that end, the 3 participating classes created several posters that were strategically placed at the entrance of the Preschool and the 1st Cycle. These posters are located near the paper and cardboard containers, a highly visible location not only for students and teachers, but also for the parents who pass by there daily.

  Waste Traffic Light In our classroom, we learn to separate waste and practice recycling every day. To track our progress, we use the Waste Traffic Light. This weekly chart works simply: we put a green circle if the separation is perfect, yellow if we make few mistakes, and red if we make many mistakes. It's our way of ensuring we take good care of the planet!

 

 

  Outdoor Activity – 'Recycling Race' Before starting the activity, we spread various types of waste (paper, plastic, and glass) around the playground and prepared a small recycling point. The children's challenge was to collect the "trash" and put it in the corresponding bins. At the end, we talked about the experience and verified everyone's excellent performance.
